It’s an imitative sound, as of thunder or an explosion, produced artificially for theatrical purposes, as for a film, play, or radio program.
In film and television production, a sound effect is a sound recorded and presented to make a specific storytelling or creative point without the use of dialogue or music.
In film the most common are The Hard sound effects, such as door slams, weapons firing, and cars driving by.
These sound effects get the attention of the audience and make more interesting the movie.

BRING IT ON!

Bring it on is a really cool movie was made in 2000, directed by Peyton Reed and written by Jessica Bendinger, it is a comedy about cheerleader like all Bring it on movies. It involved comedy, love and obviously teenagers normal problems, but in a funny way.
It’s about a girl named Torrance(Kirsten Dunst) who became the cheerleaders’ captain in her school and they are competing in a series of championships to get to the nationals, her squad had ups and down but they could pass through them. Torrance discovered that his coach stole their routines from the inner-city, hip-hop squad the Clovers, led by Isis(Gabrielle Union). Because of that they go through a lot of funny events and it’s an amazing experience for their team; it involved love too, because Torrance found out she was in love with a guy from her school. So guys DON’T loose the opportunity to see this movie it’s really awesome, I love it.

THE SILENT ERA IN FILM

In the silent era of film, marrying the image with synchronous sound was not possible for inventors and producers, since no practical method was devised until 1923. Thus, for the first thirty years of their history, movies were silent, although accompanied by live musicians and sometimes sound effects and even commentary spoken by the showman or projectionist.
Illustrated songs were a notable exception to this trend that began in 1894 in vaudeville houses and persisted as late as the late 1930s in movie theaters. In this early precursor to the music video, live performance or sound recordings were paired with hand-colored glass slides projected through stereopticons and similar devices. In this way, song narrative was illustrated through a series of slides whose changes were simultaneous with the narrative development. The main purpose of illustrated songs was to encourage sheet music sales, and they were highly successful with sales reaching into the millions for a single song. Later, with the birth of film, illustrated songs were used as filler material preceding films and during reel changes. In most countries the need for spoken accompaniment quickly faded, with dialogue and narration presented in intertitles, but in Japanese cinema it remained popular throughout the silent era.

FILM THEORY

Films really blossomed in the 1920s, most US film production at the start of the decade occurred in or near Hollywood on the West Coast,by the mid-20s, movies were big business.
Plays and dances had elements common to films- scripts, sets, lighting, costumes, production, direction, actors, audiences, storyboards, and scores. They preceded film by thousands of years. Much terminology later used in film theory and criticism applied, such as in scene. Moving visual images and sounds were not recorded for replaying as in film.
The big five Studios were: The Warner Bros,Famous player Lasky(Paramount),RKO,MGM,FOX. And the little three Studios were: Universal,United Artists,Columbia Pictures.
One of the most importants was the Disney Studios: specializing in animation; Walt and Roy Disney originally opened their first studio in 1923 in Los Angeles in the back of the Holly-Vermont Realty office, and called it Disney Bros. Studio; in a few years, they opened a new facility in downtown LA; in the late 30s, they relocated to a 51-acre lot in Burbank, and changed their name to Walt Disney Productions
Motion pictures developed gradually from a carnival novelty to one of the most important tools of communication and entertaiment, and mass media in the 20th century. Motion picture films have had a substantial impact on the arts, technology, and politics.
THE HANGOVER (:
Hey guys, well I decide to talk about a movie I just saw today, it is called The Hangover; this was directed by Todd Phillips, written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, and produced by Todd Phillips and Daniel Goldberg.
This movie is about four friends that went to Las Vegas, because Doug(Justin Bartha) was about to married, so his friends Phil(Bradley Cooper),Stu(Ed Helms) and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) decided to go there to make a bachelor party for him; next day they wake up and they didn’t remember ANYTHING of what they have done last night.
Then they realized that Doug was missing, they look for him everywhere but obviously they didn’t found him because they didn’t remember what they have done. So they decide to get some clues and to try to remember something about last night, while they were doing that they had a lot of adventures; they found out Stu got married with a stripper named Jade(Heather Graham) and that he had lost one teeth; they got in a lot of problems while they were trying to find Doug: they stole Mike Tyson tiger, they kidnap a Chinese guy and stole from him $80.000 and more.
But at the end everything was solve and they finally found Doug and everything was okay. Doug got married with the love of his life, and all the things got they normal direction. At the end the four friends found Stu photo camera and saw everything they have done.
This was a good comedy that shows us the present of friendship and the effects of having too much fun in Vegas. It is so funny , I recommend you this movie, you can buy it and see it with your friends at home!
